9 rt2-rou-1022.NL.eurorings.net [134.222.199.137] reports: Destination net u nreachable.
Dont know why my connection is going to the netherlands. If the servers a based in London, and they do happen to use a Virgin Media Pipe I dont see why I am blocked. But anyways while I accept DDos is not a issue with CCP, it would appear more damage has been done than there letting on. I dont mind technical problems, but updates even if slight would put us all to calm. Thats one thing that gripes me about CCP is how slow they are to respond to customers rages. If my phone service goes down and I call BT to ask why I usually get an answer even if its there is a fault at exchange X and an engineer is on his way.
A simple DDos should not be causeing this amount of mahem

I think we can safely say eurorings is the problem.
Bit of a bummer Virgin Media uses eurorings lol. Probably the cheaper route to use.

Whats fantastic is between us we have deduced the problem before an announcement was made. Thats not a good show on CCP front.

Originally by: Gregor Tagent so euro rings is the problem, so we workout who uploaded the original prgramme, and fry his **** from the inside out using an ip trace, but yeah euro rings, CCP sone work would be nice, even along the line of " get the F to bed", peace of mind would be nice, rather than the wall of "LALALALA ITS NOT HAPPENING"
I think CCP have more important things to worry about that answering every stupid question being asked on these forums. It's almost 3 a.m. in Iceland right now, I'm sure the night shift and the ones still working from yesterday are doing the best they can until the next shift arrives in a few hours to sort this mess out.
So get the f**k to bed and stop complaining.

Thats very true, BUT! eurorings will have strict SLA policies, and will be open 24 hours a day 365 days a year. If a fault has been detected or issued, belive you me ISP are the first to know and probably the first to complain.
If eurorings is down, all of our traffic should have been automaticaly re routed through a route that does work. So its not a fault on the network its clearly either being blocked by eurorings or CCP servers itself. Looking at the tracert from me, its being blocked at a network level so when the DDos started CCP probably called said provider and asked for all connections to be terminated. I have done this many times myself at data centres when my servers have been attacked. Problem is why are they still blocked? thats the interesting part.
Originally by: Katrina Raskin To repeat what I said earlier:
CCP will have no control of this situation, they can't give an ETA or any additional information. Even the chances of them being able to contact the ISP in question to get an answer is incredibly unlikely.
Considering the nature of the problem, the primary way it could be diagnosed would be through us, as we've managed to do.
This is not a reflection on CCP in any way, this should be easy to grasp, they don't control the backbones of the Internet =P

Edited by: SilKKZ the3rd on 15/06/2011 03:13:10 For anyone who wants it, this is a live network status map of KPN (Dutch Eurorings operator)
All routes are operational with decent ping times.
http://www.kpn-international.com/network/performancemap
I can also ping the IP where my connection fails, so its being blocked

If that means what i think it does... CCP has banned Eurorings...
Yep its probably the network used for the attack and they noticed it going through the logs.

I am back online and using a totally new route to the server
10 20 ms 19 ms 22 ms eveonline-ic-138015-ldn-b3.c.telia.net [213.248. 83.198] 11 20 ms 19 ms 20 ms 250.36.237.87.rev.ccp.cc [87.237.36.250] 12 18 ms 19 ms 18 ms 200.38.237.87.rev.ccp.cc [87.237.38.200]
Maybe virgin media detected the outage and re routed to another provider.
